Bentley

9.22.17 Update: Bentley has been adopted.

This is Bentley, a lovely two year old male English Bulldog. As you can see, his favorite pastime is sleeping! Bentley does however like a good brisk walk followed by….you guessed it…sleeping. Bentley is a healthy, neutered and fully vaccinated boy. He is coming from a private home where he is much loved. The decision to part with him is heart wrenching. However, within the makeup of this family and at this time, it is in the best interest of all. So no judgmental comments. They will be deleted and blocked.

My job is to help this boy find his forever home and help the family step out of the guilt and sadness into relief and happiness that Bentley will have what he needs. One of the toughest lessons for kids to learn is that life changes from moment to moment, unexpected and often not in the way that we want or hope. When life presents a tough situation over which we have some control, and by exercising that control, we grow into better human beings, I say grab it and run. This mother is modeling this lesson for her children. Hurtful? Undoubtedly. Sad? no question. Necessary? Yes.

Bentley is mostly house trained but it is reported that he has occasional accidents. He has a crate but does not really need it. He sleeps with the kids. Bentley does not do well with young children who, (as I have said before) tend to be loud, impulsive, fast moving and somewhat unpredictable. He gets over stimulated and will snap. I am therefore looking for a home with either older children (teens) or no children.

Bentley also feels that he is so awesome that he should be the only dog in his families universe. He therefore needs to be in a home with no other dogs or cats. He will chase and attack if allowed to be in an uncontrolled situation. So fenced yard would be awesome. If you feel that you can meet the needs of this awesome boy, please fill out an application on our website, www.vermontenglishbulldogrescue.com.

Mention Bentley and we will get back with you.
